The Mile High Stadium Curse

When the Broncos built their new stadium a few years back, with taxpayer funding, their owner promised to keep the Mile High Stadium name.

He kept his promise in only the most technical sense, licensing naming right to the “field” to Invesco.  The completed facility bore large Invesco signs for the “field,” although there were also less prominent accompanying signs with the text “at Mile High.”

So, in the end Invesco went bankrupt.

And today there is news that Invesco’s successor in obtaining those naming rights, Sports Authority, is going bankrupt (See here).

Enough already?
