Inspirational Thought from the J. Reuben Clark Law Society (9-9-09)

This arrived by e-mail yesterday (modified by me to correct some punctuation at the end):

The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. spoke of religion and service: “A religion true to is nature must also be concerned about man’s social conditions. Religion deals with both earth and heaven, both time and eternity. Religion operates not only on the vertical plane but also on the horizontal. It seeks not only to integrate men with God but to integrate men with men and each man with himself.”

Stephen A. West, “Pure Religion”, Life in the Law, 2004, 130
